Event Planning Intern

SUMMARY
The Event Planning Intern is responsible for assisting in coordinating events, developing marketing material to promote them, and finding event sponsors. This position is essential to growing Emerge’s presence to attract new clients.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest
  • Create and manage marketing campaigns to promote events
  • Manage social media and develop innovative strategies to market on these platforms to increase event awareness
  • Design various graphics and assist in taking videos and photos to be used for websites, social media, flyers, etc.
  • Create material for event sponsorships and pitch presentation
  • Research potential sponsors and reach out to set up initial sales meetings
  • Assist in establishing and managing all event’s details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, etc.
  • Oversee guest experiences from conception through post-event, managing on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively work in team environment

  • Knowledgeable on diverse marketing strategies to promote business growth
  • Possess sales skills
  • Strong executive presence
  • Willingness to be coached and receive constructive feedback
  • Possess strong organization skills and are detailed-oriented
  • Are both business and creative minded
  • Takes initiative on tasks and able to work with little supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduating 2022 or 2023
  • Marketing major or related major or experience
  • Sales major or related major or experience
  • Strong involvement on campus in various activities
