TITLE: Intern, Data Analyst
REPORTS TO:  Data Analyst & Placement Specialist
LOCATION:  Remote Work
UNPAID Internship
 
POSITION SUMMARY:  The Data Analyst Intern will analyze and report on data collected from surveys distributed by Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore (GSMISTS) or Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). Analysis will include but is not limited to past Girl Scout Voices Count (GSVC) survey data, current year GSVC survey data, GSMISTS Employee Engagement survey data. Reporting on analysis will include detailed reports, summary reports, and reports broken out by demographics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.   Analyze data collected by Girl Scouts from surveys and other sources.
2.   Create detailed reports of analyzed data.
3.   Produce summary reports of analyzed data that speaks to the layperson.
4.   Arrange data reports by demographics, primarily by county.
5.   Prepare for reports executive summary, results, limitations, conclusions, and recommendations.
6.   Use data to answer and/or address overarching questions.
7.   Interacts with GSMISTS directors so as to learn about the organization on a global level.
8.   May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1.   Bachelors program Junior or Senior in Mathematics, statics or related field required. Student in Masters, Doctorate or Postdoctoral program preferred.
2.   Excellent computer skills including experience working with SPSS, SAS, Python, Tableau, or similar data analytic software. Experience working with Qualtrics is preferred.
3.   Excellent skills in researching, compiling and summarizing a variety of information, and statistical data.
4.   Experience preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, presentations, and other written materials.
5.   Ability to effectively convey information, thoughts, and ideas in verbal and written form with all levels of the organization as well as all levels of external audiences.
6.   Ability to work independently, self-manage, and time-manage; including organizing work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up with minimum direction.
7.   Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Requirements:
1.   Adherence to Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore policies and procedures.
2.   Upholds GSUSA Brand Guidelines regarding use of branded materials, logos, and brand voice.
3.   Internship is dependent upon completing and passing a criminal background investigation.
