Coalition Builder Internship

Tobacco Free Michigan is a coalition that works to prevent and reduce tobacco use and its harmful effects in all Michigan communities through education, networking, advocacy and dissemination of research data, with a specific focus on vulnerable populations heavily targeted by the tobacco industry. We envision a time when everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy life free of addiction to nicotine.

TFM is looking for qualified candidate to expand, engage and organize members and partner organizations into effective coalitions that reduce the negative impacts of tobacco in Michigan. They will strengthen and expand TFM’s member-based events and activities. The Coalition Builder works with and reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities may include
·        Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement a Strategic Communication Plan
·        Assist local coalitions such as the Detroit Wayne Oakland Tobacco Free Coalition and the Tobacco Free Network
·        Develop new coalitions that focus on those populations most heavily impacted by tobacco
·        Improve TFM’s social media presence to broaden our reach and promote effective tobacco prevention efforts and engagement with members and local coalitions
·        Develop consistent messaging and activities for TFM partnerships
·        Design and create new programs to ensure TFM members are engaged and have access to the best information available
Minimum Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Outgoing and engaging personality
