Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine Summer Internship - Multiple Openings

Charles C. Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology http://www.ucdenver.edu/academics/colleges/medicalschool/centers/StemCell/Pages/StemCell.aspx aspires to honor what Charles Gates envisioned—by doing everything possible to support the collaboration between basic scientific researchers and clinical faculty to transition scientific breakthroughs into clinical practice as quickly as possible. The goal of the Gates Center Summer Internship Program (GSIP) is to encourage outstanding undergraduates to consider careers in stem cell and regenerative medicine research in an academic or industry setting by providing state-of-the-art training opportunities at the Gates Center. A committee of Gates Center faculty will select highly qualified undergraduates to work full-time for 11 weeks from May 30 to August 11, 2017 in laboratories located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. For more information, see  http://www.ucdenver.edu/academics/colleges/medicalschool/centers/StemCell/EducationSeminars/gsip/Pag..

Applicants will be contacted by email starting the week of March 22, 2017. Applicants will have seven days to accept the internship offer and will be asked to sign a letter of acceptance agreeing to complete the program requirements. Please note that GSIP is a full-time training program that spans 11 weeks. Therefore, fellows may not combine their research work with any other daytime commitments.

Eligibility and Requirements

All college undergraduates and spring 2017 graduates, including former interns, are eligible to apply.

Interns are required to attend orientation, weekly lectures given by Gates Center researchers, and a field trip to the newly established Gates Biomanufacturing Facility. They must also present their work at the end of the internship at the poster session.
Any publications, patents, posters, talks or projects that result from an intern's participation in GSIP must credit the program by including the funding acknowledgement.
