Real Estate Private Equity Summer Intern - Ascentris
The Ascentris Real Estate Private Equity Summer Intern will be an active member of our dynamic, team-oriented investment team. The Intern will participate in and support the acquisition, development, asset management and disposition of the company’s real estate investments across multiple product types. The Intern will benefit from a formal training program and will receive on-the-job training and mentorship from Ascentris’ investment professionals. The position is based in Denver, CO.

DUTIES
• Within an investment team, evaluate all types of real estate opportunities by analyzing market trends, industry research and supply/demand fundamentals with the objective of enabling the company to make effective and analytically driven business decisions.
• Dependent upon the Intern’s capabilities, maintain complex financial models using MS Excel and ARGUS to forecast leveraged cash flows and financial return metrics for potential and existing investments.
• Support an investment team with asset management and reporting for existing properties by reviewing third-party financial reports, creating internal analyses and making recommendations for investment opportunities.
• Complete other tasks as needed to improve the performance or reduce the risk of an investment.

• The Summer Internship will be a full-time (40 hours/week), 10 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Progress toward or completion of a B.A. or B.S. with demonstrated academic success in quantitative coursework.
• Demonstrated interest in real estate, finance, private equity or investment banking.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and organization skills. Attention to detail is critically important.
• Basic understanding of and desire to learn about quantitative financial models.
• Exemplary computer skills, including MS Office with proficiency in Excel. ARGUS knowledge is helpful but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to various audiences (the Intern will communicate with all levels of the organization including senior management).
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively both individually and as part of a team. The Intern is required to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Extremely high level of integrity, dependability, professionalism, accountability and respect. Takes ownership of tasks and pride in work product.
• English fluency is required.
