Office ofInternational Student Support
ISO Program's Student Resource People
Though not substitutes for the team of upperclass students, who provide support during the Customs Orientation Program, the International Student Orientation (ISO) Program's Student Resource People (ISRPs) are intended as support and an additional point of reference. Many ISRPs are also international students and past participants in ISO. Tasked with collaborating with other campus resources, ISRPs are available for one-on-one conversations, hold small workshops and conversations, and advocate for the needs of the ISO cohort within the larger Haverford community.

Hey friends! My name is Jacob Seiji Foster (he/him) and I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand and Tokyo, Japan. I'm a senior Sociology and International Studies double major and East Asian Languages & Cultures minor. Over the years, I've joined (and quit) a variety of activities, but presently I live at Nerd House, work at the Writing Center, and run Haverford League of Legends. In my free time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, doing calligraphy, making origami, playing board/card/video games, going to the gym, eating bagels, and working on stupid photoshop projects. ISSO and the international student community was hugely impactful for me during my first COVID year, and I'm happy to be a part of it! Truly looking forward to meeting you all—welcome to Haverford!

In my free time, I love to read, do arts and crafts, go for a run on the beautiful nature trail, and play my violin (I'm part of the Bi-Co Orchestra and the Chamber Music group!) ISO is an extremely supportive community of the most wonderful people, which has immensely helped me adjust to my new life in this new country. I can't wait to provide the same experience for new students. Welcome to Haverford!

Hello, Friends!! My name is Yasmin (she/her), and I'm from São José dos Campos, Brazil. I am starting my sophomore year as a prospective Economics major and Mathematics minor. Our international community here at Haverford makes me feel at home and it is one of my favorite things about this place. I'm one of the co-heads for the Microfinance Consulting Club, - for those who are interested in social impact investing - in which we collect money through annual bake sales and use it to make loans to small entrepreneurs from all around the world! This year I will also be heading the Institutional Memory committee for the Alliance of Latin American Students, one of our many wonderful affinity groups on campus. I really enjoy going out for walks, spending time with my friends, listening and practicing music and cooking some good food. Hi everyone! My name is Sid (he/him), and I’m a member of the class of 2026. I’m a Singaporean international student here at Haverford and plan on majoring in Psychology and possibly minoring in Classics or Philosophy. In my free time I enjoy binging Rom Coms, dabbling in karaoke and taking photos (very casually). I love planning parties and events (I’m a member of the Special Events Committee for Students and the Pan Asian Resource Center Events & Party Committee) so you’ll definitely find me helping out with something on campus on a weekly basis. If I’m not studying (but mostly socializing) at the Science Library you’ll find me hanging out at the Coop or any green space on campus when the sun is out. The international community here at Haverford has been a tight knit community that I’ve cherished since day one, you’ll definitely feel at home with us. I can’t wait to meet you all and I hope you have the best first year possible! Welcome!!
